यजुर्वेद - अध्याय 31/ मन्त्र 13
नाभ्या॑ऽआसीद॒न्तरि॑क्षꣳ शी॒र्ष्णो द्यौः सम॑वर्त्तत।प॒द्भयां भूमि॒र्दिशः॒ श्रोत्रा॒त्तथा॑ लो॒काँ२॥ऽअ॑कल्पयन्॥१३॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठनाभ्याः॑। आ॒सी॒त्। अ॒न्तरि॑क्षम्। शी॒र्ष्णः। द्यौः। सम्। अ॒व॒र्त्त॒त॒ ॥ प॒द्भ्यामिति॑ प॒त्ऽभ्याम्। भूमिः॑। दिशः॑। श्रोत्रा॑त्। तथा॑। लो॒कान् ॥ अ॒क॒ल्प॒य॒न् ॥१३ ॥

नाभ्याऽआसीदन्तरिक्षँ शीर्ष्णा द्यौः समवर्तत । पद्भ्याम्भूमिर्दिशः श्रोत्रात्तथा लोकाँऽअकल्पयन् ॥

नाभ्याः। आसीत्। अन्तरिक्षम्। शीर्ष्णः। द्यौः। सम्। अवर्त्तत॥ पद्भ्यामिति पत्ऽभ्याम्। भूमिः। दिशः। श्रोत्रात्। तथा। लोकान्॥ अकल्पयन्॥१३॥
Meaning -
The Rishis visualise that the sky was born of the navel of the Cosmic Purusha, that is, the sky is the navel part of the universe, the heaven of light arose from the head, the earth solidified from the dust of the feet, the space directions emanated from the ear, and similarly the other regions of the universe arose from the Purusha.
