यजुर्वेद - अध्याय 20/ मन्त्र 38
ई॒डि॒तो दे॒वैर्हरि॑वाँ२ऽअभि॒ष्टिरा॒जुह्वा॑नो ह॒विषा॒ शर्द्ध॑मानः। पु॒र॒न्द॒रो गो॑त्र॒भिद् ्वज्र॑बाहु॒राया॑तु य॒ज्ञमुप॑ नो जुषा॒णः॥३८॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठई॒डि॒तः। दे॒वैः। हरि॑वा॒निति॒ हरि॑ऽवान्। अ॒भि॒ष्टिः। आ॒जुह्वा॑न॒ इत्या॒ऽजुह्वा॑नः। ह॒विषा॑। शर्द्ध॑मानः। पु॒र॒न्द॒र इति॑ पुरम्ऽद॒रः। गो॒त्र॒भिदिति॑ गोत्र॒ऽभित्। वज्र॑बाहु॒रिति॒ वज्र॑ऽबाहुः। आ। या॒तु॒। य॒ज्ञम्। उप॑। नः॒। जु॒षा॒णः ॥३८ ॥

ईडितो देवैर्हरिवाँऽअभिष्टिराजुह्वानो हविषा शर्धमानः । पुरन्दरो गोतभिद्वज्रबाहुरा यातु यज्ञमुप नो जुषाणः ॥

ईडितः। देवैः। हरिवानिति हरिऽवान्। अभिष्टिः। आजुह्वान इत्याऽजुह्वानः। हविषा। शर्द्धमानः। पुरन्दर इति पुरम्ऽदरः। गोत्रभिदिति गोत्रऽभित्। वज्रबाहुरिति वज्रऽबाहुः। आ। यातु। यज्ञम्। उप। नः। जुषाणः॥३८॥
Translation -
Praised by the enlightened ones, master of good horses, coming to help whenever invoked, gaining strength with abundant supplies, may the render of enemy forts, the cleaver of cow-stalls, and the wielder of thunderbolt come to attend our sacrifice full of friendly feeling. (1)
Notes -
Iditaḥ, praised. Harivän, owner of good horses. Abhistih, one that comes to help, or one who is praised all around. Sardhamanaḥ, बलायमान:, gaining strength. Purandarah, पुरं रिपुनगरं दारयति यः सः पुरन्दरः, render of enemy forts. Gotrabhit, cleaver of cow-stalls. Also, cleaver of clouds.
